The construction program and start up of 12 Community Centers over 10 different poor areas of cities around the State of Guanajuato (Purisima, Romita, Silao, Guanajuato, Salamanca, Celaya, San Felipe, Cortazar, Uriangato y Valle de Santiago) was coordinated by the State Planning Institute of Guanajuato (IPLANEG) and was based on the creation of a flexible prototype which implied low maintenance services and house several workshop spaces, library, offices, recycling center and sports areas, facing the two-story building of the library. The workshops were meant to be facing north with sloping roofs allowing a zenithal lighting. The leisure areas were adapted according to each specific topography and being linked through small squares to the buildings. The constructive schemes are managed by stages, as well as the use of eco-techniques, mainly solar, was a constant proposal in all the projects.
